Still Whispers
“Still Whispers is all about creating a tranquil space within. My wish is to help listeners find that space and give them at least five minutes of relaxation. If you find yourself hitting play on one of my creations I hope it helps you find a moment of peace or inspiration that might even move you. We often forget just how much music can express our deepest depths.”
I love making/producing music, and for many years it was a dream I felt would never happen. I could probably write pages of stories about how music demanded to be front and centre in my life, but this isn’t a wiki page, so I’ll refrain from diving too far into the past.
In 2019, my girlfriend and I made a decision, a huge decision that would forever alter our lives and dreams. We decided to sell our house and live a gypsy life giving us more freedom to explore our dreams.
One of the first things I did was buy an iPad Pro because it would be more efficient on our solar system than using my MacBook Pro all the time. Getting my iPad really did give me more opportunities, especially when it came to music.
It didn’t take me long to discover the world of Mobile Music Production and a much more affordable option then Desktop Music Production. This is when Still Whispers was born.
I love the world of ambient music and have been experimenting and creating within this genre since I first discovered GarageBand on my iPad.
GarageBand gave me a bunch of sounds that I was able to play with, without the commitment or expense, and with the aid of awesome YouTubers like Pete Jones, Jade Starr and The Sound Test Room I was soon creating music I was proud of.
Of course there has been many ups and downs because I set up shop without even a single piece of music theory to my name.
I also found there is not a lot of information and tutorials if you combine ambient music with an iPad plus a keen interest into Solfeggio Frequencies, Binaural Beats and Isotonic Tones.
Either way I had a huge determination to figure it all out, and while it is still an ongoing challenge, I always find myself getting a step further in the right direction… eventually.
Still Whispers is constantly growing and evolving as I discover more things to learn about; I found myself limited by GarageBand and have been playing with other DAWs, I’ve realised my music was lacking a more professional sound so I started learning mixing and mastering.
I’ve even started exploring sound design because I love synths and started diving into the wonderful world of sound recording which brought about my Soundscapes.
Who knows where Still Whispers will journey too, all I know is that I love the world of music production and many of the aspects that come with that. I hope to share some of this journey with you and help you on your own music production journey.
Where to Find Still Whispers
Currently you can only find Still Whispers on YouTube channel Alexa Soundscape, but hopefully the near future will bring more places.
